Ross to cycle for charity, Anthony Nolan, in the Charity Ride London 100

Ross cycling for his trainingCall the office and you are likely to speak with our very own Ross Wildman.  One of our in-house developers, Ross is fondly known as dv8media’s Google Guru.  He’s possibly even better known for his commitment to two wheels.  Ross is a BIG road cyclist.  If asked, he will tell you he is a ‘champion’ cyclist – we’ll have to take his word for it ;) .  And 2013 is a big year for Ross, who will be taking part in The Ride London-Surrey 100, following the Olympic road racing route in London.

The Ride London-Surrey 100 begins in wave starts between 06:00 and 08:00 on Sunday 4 August 2013. 20,000 amateur cyclists are expected to take part and participants are seeded with starting positions allocated on ability and fitness.  All participants are expected to be able to finish the 100 miles within around 9 hours.  Clearly, Ross hopes to finish sooner (he is aiming for 6 hours)!

Ross is riding for charity, Anthony Nolan.  Anthony Nolan matches people willing to donate their blood stem cells for transplants to people with blood cancer, saving their lives. Ross has been a registered blood donor with the charity for years and has recently registered for bone marrow transplants, having found out more about the work done by the charity in this field since he became involved in raising money on their behalf.

Ross has already completed 3,500 miles of training in the last few months since confirmation of his place in the event.  Phew! He aims to raise £1000 and will be running a charity quiz nights as well as this sponsored charity ride in August.  If you would like sponsor Ross for the event, please visit his Fundraising Page on Virgin Money Giving.  All support is greatly appreciated!
