The Sign Shop at Plymouth Community Homes is a full service workshop delivering professional sign writing services including design, creation and implementation for all types of client. Among those they deliver vehicle wraps for Plymouth City Bus, painted signs and guilding for Plymouth City Council, as well as window graphics for Plymouth City Museum.

When we started working with The Sign Shop there were no existing brand guidelines, as previously they had been under the Plymouth Community Homes banner. Our brief was to develop a unique brand which maintained the association with their parent company, retained important links with the city, fitted with their products and services but also gave them their own personality.

Previously The Sign Shop had been integrated with Plymouth Community homes and operated under combined website and marketing budgets. After recent changes in the company structure The Sign Shop required its own website in order promote their service in a way that was more dedicated to their target market. We were tasked with design and development of The Sign Shop's first website. The objective of the site was to deliver information to the market about the vast array of different services available and to start competing with other sign makers in the area.

As a brand new web project we needed to ensure that the site was able to compete immediately within the existing signage market. We carried out competitor analysis, keyword research and developed SEO friendly copy based on the results. We also registered the business for their own Google account, providing a Google Maps listing and installation of Google Analytics on their web pages. Once complete and the website was online, we ensured it was registered in all the correct places and delivered monthly reporting.
