When My Place in Cornwall approached us for their project they were using a static website which was completely managed by a web designer. This meant all property listings and availability information would be directed through one external point of contact. For our brief we needed to develop a website which would provide complete in house management. A specific requirement for this web project was the site must stand out amongst other estate agents websites, which mainly use similar proprietary systems to each other. The website we created is based on our content management system and provides all the control they need, as well as being able to easily upload property listings to all the major portals, such as Rightmove and Zoopla. We also integrated features such as the slide show on each listing, this provides a facility to simply upload any number of images and have them automatically display. The site also has Google Maps integration, meaning an accurate location can be set in the administration and this will display on the property details. Added to this feature, we created a facility for the client to populate the area with relevant points of interest, for example schools, beaches, libraries and these automatically show on the map with the property pin. These areas of interest also change based on the property type i.e. standard let or holiday let.
